Warning Signs

Recognizing and understanding the warning signs of students who are at-risk for violent behavior will assist us in early identification, intervention and prevention activities.

Develop a program to train staff members on identifying warning signs. Encourage them to observe and report behaviors that concern them to specialists who can evaluate and address the student’s needs.

Example: A referral sheet that is completed on a regular basis or as needed so that intervention by staff or counselors can be initiated.
